What Still Matters When the Work Is Gone

If the Work Disappeared Tomorrow

At Formula 50, we spend a lot of time talking about growth, systems, and execution. But every once in a while, it’s worth stepping back and asking a simpler question.

If the work disappeared tomorrow, what would we want people to still know about us?

For us, the answer starts with the environment we’ve tried to create.

What a “Great Work Environment” Actually Means

A great work environment isn’t loud. It isn’t flashy. And it isn’t built on slogans.

It’s a place where people feel supported and encouraged. Where expectations are clear. Where not everyone needs the same career path, but everyone deserves respect.

Some people want to advance quickly. Others want stability, good teammates, and work they can be proud of. A strong company makes room for both.

Connection Creates Meaning

One thing we believe deeply at Formula 50 is that people need to see how their work matters.

Even if someone never speaks to a customer directly, they should still understand the impact of what they do. When employees see that connection, motivation changes. Ownership increases. Pride follows.

That feedback loop matters more than most leaders realize.

Leadership Evolves Over Time

As companies grow, leadership roles change. In many seasons, leadership looks like asking hard questions. In others, it looks like stepping back and becoming a steady source of encouragement.

Both matter.

What doesn’t change is the responsibility to be aware of how you show up and how your words land. That awareness is part of building trust.

What We Hope Endures

If Formula 50 disappeared tomorrow, we’d hope people would say this:

They built a place where people felt supported. Where the work mattered. And where leadership actually cared about the environment people showed up to every day.

That’s the standard we keep coming back to.
